Portugal, officially The Portuguese Republic, is a country in southern Europe, founded in 1143, occupying a total area of 92,212 km2. The mainland is located on the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula, bordering Spain to the north and east, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west and south. The Portuguese territory includes two autonomous regions: the archipelagos of Madeira and Azores, in the Atlantic Ocean.
Portugal has a population of 10,6 million inhabitants (2011) and a population density of 115,4 inhabitants/km2, with higher concentrations along its beautiful coastal strip.
Portugal’s official language, Portuguese, is spoken by about 250 million people in every continent and it is one of the most spoken languages in the world.
Portugal’s main exports to China are minerals and ornamental stones, machinery and equipments, vehicles, textiles and agri-products (wine, olive oil, meat, fruit, etc).
