The 8th International Import Expo Media Guide
Media Service Information
Dear friends from the press,
The 8th China International Import Expo (hereinafter referred to as “CIIE”) will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from November 5 to November 10, 2025.
You are warmly invited to register for coverage of the 8th CIIE. Kindly submit your registration information accurately and promptly in accordance with the instructions specified in the registration notice. Please remain attentive after registration, as we will notify you of your registration status in a timely manner. Upon successful approval, you will be designated as a registered journalist for the 8th CIIE.
The Media Center will be established in the A0 Office Building of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), dedicated to serving registered journalists, and will be open from November 3 to November 10. The Media Center shall serve as a home for journalists both domestic and international; we are committed to providing you with thoughtful and convenient services, assisting you in your comprehensive coverage of this year’s CIIE. Media service information will be published and updated promptly through the official CIIE website (www.ciie.org) and other channels. Please stay attentive, and feel free to share any requirements, feedback, or suggestions with us.

Online News Center
The “Online Media Center” encompasses a web portal, WeChat mini program, and service account, releasing official information related to the CIIE. It provides registered journalists with interview details, significant announcements, exhibitor and exhibit updates, booth activities, supporting events, media manuals, service guarantees, and more. Additionally, it offers downloadable text, image, and video materials, serving as a repository of news resources. Registered journalists of the CIIE may log in to the web version of the “Online Media Center” via the official CIIE website (https://www.ciie.org/zbh/en/), or search for the “China International Import Expo” mini program on WeChat to access the center. Alternatively, they may follow the “China International Import Expo Journalist Service Platform” service account on WeChat or scan the QR code below, complete authentication by linking their mobile number, and thus gain access to interview information.

Media Notice
The Media Center will provide comprehensive services to facilitate interview and coverage tasks for journalists registered for the CIIE
We will promptly notify you of the review results of your application; please stay attuned for updates.
Should your application be approved, kindly collect your media passes as instructed. The specific time and location for credential pickup will be communicated via email and official CIIE announcements.
Media passes are strictly for the personal use of the registered journalist and are non-transferable.
The Media Center will provide registered journalists with broadcast television public signals and official news photographs of the main events at the CIIE.
You may access the official CIIE website, the online Media Center, or consult the inquiry service desk and digital displays at the Media Center to obtain news, service information, and announcements regarding the CIIE.
During the CIIE, designated pick-up points will be established at media-recommended hotels, and complimentary media shuttle buses will operate between these hotels and the Media Center at scheduled times. Please present your media passes when boarding the shuttle.
Media Pass
The China International Import Expo (CIIE) media passes serve as your official authorization for reporting on the event, as well as for accessing media shuttle services, navigating the Media Center, recommended media hotels, the National Exhibition and Convention Center, and other relevant CIIE venues.
If your application has been approved and you have become a registered journalist for this year's expo, and you have selected on-site collection of media passes, please collect your passes at the following designated times and locations:

November 2nd to 4th, 2025, daily from 8:00 to 22:00
Credential Collection Locations:
Registered journalists staying at recommended media hotels may collect their passes at the CIIE Sub-Media Center within the hotel.
Other registered journalists are requested to collect their passes at: Lotus Hall, 1st floor of Radisson Collection Hotel, Yangtze Shanghai(No. 2099 Yan’an West Road, Changning District, Shanghai). – CIIE Sub-Media Center.

Media Center
The Media Center for the China International Import Expo is situated on levels 1 to 3 of the A0 Office Building at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), located at 1988 Zhuguang Road, Qingpu District, Shanghai, in close proximity to Gate 8 of the Convention Center.

Functional Areas of the Media Center
The Media Center is comprised of various functional areas, including the Information Desk, Media Workspace, Exclusive Media Workspace, Radio & Television Services Area,, Press Conference Halls, Interview Rooms, and Catering and Refreshment Area, among others. The entire Media Center is covered by a wireless network.
Information Desk
On the first floor of the Media Center, a comprehensive information desk has been established to provide details on major events and press releases of the CIIE, as well as to handle press conference registrations, on-site and off-site interview bookings, and other media-related services. Additionally, bilingual information on transportation, accommodation, an introduction to the city of Shanghai and its surrounding tourist areas is available, alongside material distribution and lost-and-found services.
On the second floor, a reservation service office is dedicated to offering registered journalists access to office facilities and equipment, interview room rentals, as well as broadcast and telecommunications bookings. An official Photo Center is also available for image searching, browsing, and downloading.
Media Workspace
The public media workspace is located on the second floor of the Media Center. Multiple workstations equipped with networked computers are available, each desk fitted with digital audio, network, and power interfaces.
Large LED screens and televisions broadcast public signals and deliver real-time information related to the CIIE.
A document and printing area provides fax machines, telephones, printers, copiers, and electronic storage lockers.
Dedicated live reporting spots are available for journalists' on-camera use.
Exclusive Media Workspace
The Media Center features private working rooms for the media, which are outfitted with power supply, broadband internet, public signals, and cable television interfaces, alongside equipment rental services for telephones, faxes, printers, computers, and office furniture.
Radio and Television Services Area
The second floor houses the broadcast and television master control equipment room and master control duty office.
There is also a public signal recording room and a satellite transmission service room, providing public signal recording, satellite transmission, and new media streaming services.
Interview Room
Interview rooms are situated on the second floor and are available for media rental.
Press Conference Halls
On the third floor, three press conference halls of varying sizes—large, medium, and small—have been arranged.
Multiple press conferences and news briefing events will be held throughout the CIIE.
Catering and Refreshment Area
A refreshment area on the second floor offers coffee, tea, and snacks throughout the operational hours of the Media Center.
A media restaurant also on the second floor offers lunch, dinner, and late-night meals to journalists.
Medical Room
An on-site medical room is set up on the second floor to provide emergency medical services.
Live Broadcasting Position
Live Broadcast Position
The Media Center has established a dedicated live broadcasting point at the heart of the public media workspace, facilitating reporters’ live coverage.
The National Exhibition and Convention Center boasts comprehensive 5G signal coverage, enabling media professionals to reserve 5G audiovisual signal transmission services via the online Media Center or the Booking Office at the Media Center.
CIIE Broadcast Studios
During the 8th CIIE, a total of 10 broadcast studios will be available: one each in the Food and Agricultural Products, Consumer Goods, Trade in Services, and Automobile and Smart Mobility exhibition areas; two in the Intelligent Industry & Information Technology exhibition area; three in the Medical Equipment & Healthcare Products exhibition area; and one in the People-to-People Exchange Activities area.
Each studio covers approximately 36 m² and is equipped with:

Reservation Rules
1. Reservation QR codes are available at the Online Media Center and the onsite Media Center.
2. Reservations open two days in advance. Users must provide basic information, including media organization and name.
3. Each media organization may reserve one studio at a time for a maximum of three hours.
4. If check-in is not completed within 20 minutes after the reserved start time, the studio will be released for onsite booking.
Booking and Leasing
The Booking Office at the Media Center provides registered CIIE media with interview rooms, live broadcast points, office equipment rental, as well as appointment services for TV broadcasting technology and transmission communications.
All reservations and rental services are arranged on a first-come, first-served basis.

Application Procedure
1.Advance Reservation
Registered journalists for the CIIE may consult the Booking Office at the Media Center via telephone or email to inquire about the details, pricing, and application methods for reservation and rental services, as well as to make reservations. Alternatively, journalists may access the journalist registration system of the CIIE or the “Online Media Center” to obtain relevant information, download application forms, and proceed with reservations.
Please complete the application form and submit it by email to the Booking Office (ibcbooking@ciie.org). Within three days of receiving your application form, the Booking Office will contact your media organization to confirm specific requirements and detailed fees.
2. On-site Booking
During the operation period of the Media Center, registered journalists may visit the Booking Office in person to place on-site reservations for the relevant services.
Settlement Currency and Payment Methods
Reservation and rental services at the Media Center are quoted in RMB. If payment is made in US dollars, settlement will be conducted at the RMB/USD exchange rate announced by the People’s Bank of China on the day of payment.
The Booking Office accepts payments in cash (RMB), credit card, or bank transfer.
Official Image Services
The Media Center offers a dedicated image download service for registered media. Please proceed to the Image Center of the Media Center to apply for the relevant services.
Radio Communication Management and Services
During the CIIE, any organizations or individuals (including registered CIIE journalists) intending to operate radio transmitting devices—such as wireless cameras, walkie-talkies, or wireless microphones—within the Media Center and National Exhibition and Convention Center premises must submit an application in advance to the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization (Shanghai Radio Administration Bureau) and complete the necessary procedures.
Registered CIIE journalists are requested to log in to the “Online Media Center” for specific regulations, download and complete the “China International Import Expo Radio Frequency Application Form”, and email the completed form to: fengtb@sheitc.sh.gov.cn.
Press Conferences
Throughout the CIIE, a series of press conferences will be convened by the Media Center.
Registered journalists may obtain press conference information and register their attendance through the CIIE’s Online Media Center or at the comprehensive information desk located on the first floor of the Media Center.
Interview Services
During the CIIE, the Media Center will launch the distinctive “My CIIE Moment” interview series and the “Face-to-Face with Overseas CEOs” exclusive interviews, inviting both domestic and international journalists to engage with foreign participants and senior executives of exhibiting enterprises. On-site interpretation services will be provided.
Additionally, the Media Center will arrange off-site interview routes centered on themes such as Shanghai's latest economic and social developments, with translation services available during these interviews.
Registered CIIE journalists may reserve and register for press conferences, both internal and external interviews, as well as various other activities through the online Media Center or the comprehensive information desk on the first floor of the Media Center. Journalists may also access information regarding accommodation, transportation, highlights of exhibited products, and other essential updates.
Cultural Exhibitions and Performances
Book Promotion and Gifting Section
On the second floor of the Media Center, a dedicated section for book promotion and gifting has been established, where both Chinese and international journalists are presented with publications that reflect Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, as well as academic works showcasing Shanghai as a model site for the practice of Xi Jinping’s cultural ideology. Special emphasis is placed on books and audiovisual materials that encapsulate the city’s cultural spirit, economic advancement, and social development, thereby presenting Shanghai’s urban image and its achievements in high-quality growth. These selections also highlight the city’s unique integration of culture, tourism, commerce, sports, and exhibitions, showcasing the publications that illuminate Shanghai’s philosophical, historical, and cultural highlights.
Intangible Heritage Lounge
By employing immersive, scene-based and life-oriented displays, the Intangible Heritage Lounge offers a captivating window into Shanghai’s intangible cultural treasures. Through masterful presentations of Shanghai’s rich cultural heritage and distinct aesthetic sensibilities, complemented by interactive experiences with a variety of lively, fascinating intangible heritage projects, the exhibition showcases the city’s achievements in safeguarding intangible culture and its contemporary applications, revealing the resplendent beauty of Shanghai’s intangible legacy in modern life.
Shanghai Literary Collection
The Shanghai Literary Collection (tentative title) meticulously selects outstanding works from the Shanghai Book Fair and top-rated Shanghai editions, curates global bestseller lists, and introduces a vibrant array of leading cultural and creative IPs from Shanghai. Within this fragrant atmosphere of books and ink, Chinese and international journalists are invited to savor the refined elegance of Shanghai’s culture and experience the profound allure of literary tradition. The themed displays harmoniously blend books with cultural and creative products, forging a multifunctional, diverse cultural space.
Artistic Space
The “Artistic Space” aspires to serve as a premier platform for Shanghai’s urban arts and culture, inviting distinguished artists and ensembles from around the globe to participate in collaborative, integrative performances, while providing an immersive experience for journalists from both home and abroad. By carefully selecting artistic presentations that best represent Shanghai’s unique character, this enclave within the Media Center at the CIIE unveils the multifaceted charm of the city’s artistic stage, reflecting the singular temperament and distinctive aura of Shanghai.

During its operation, the Media Center will offer lunch, dinner, late-night snacks, as well as refreshment services. Detailed schedules for these offerings will be announced in due course.
Hotel Services
We have selected six hotels located in downtown Shanghai and around the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) as media-recommended accommodations (lodging expenses are to be borne by guests). During the CIIE, complimentary shuttle buses will ply between the hotels and the Media Center. Additionally, a Sub-Media Center will be established at each recommended hotel, providing a suite of amenities including internet access, computers, printers, copiers, as well as services such as media credential collection, interview consultations, refreshments, medical assistance, taxi reservations, and support with booking flights and train tickets.

Transportation Services
I. Arrival and Departure Services
1. Group Pick-up Service
From November 3rd to 4th, should more than 20 registered journalists arrive in Shanghai on the same flight or train, bespoke shuttle services will be arranged based on reservation requests.
2. Group Drop-off Service
On November 11th, should more than 20 registered journalists depart from Shanghai on the same flight or train, bespoke shuttle services will be arranged based on reservation requests.
II. Media Shuttle Bus Service
During the CIIE, the Media Center will provide complimentary shuttle bus transportation for registered journalists, with buses operating between the recommended media hotels and the Media Center.
Further details on group pick-up and drop-off services, as well as the shuttle bus routes and schedules, will be announced in due course. Registered journalists are kindly advised to consult the “Online Media Center”, the comprehensive information desk on the first floor of the Media Center, or the sub-media centers at recommended media hotels for information updates.
