With the new round of industrial revolution, new technologies and new ideas have flourished worldwide and injected new momentum into economic and social development. Currently, new industries, new forms of businesses and new business models based on digital, networked and intelligent technologies have gradually taken shape. It affects the adjustment of the global industrial division pattern and brings opportunities and challenges to the development of the world economy. In this session, panelists will discuss how artificial intelligence (AI) can promote the development and application of new technologies and new ideas, how to drive the development of the world economy and the integration of the global market with new technologies to realize the transition from old to new growth drivers.

Tian Wei is a former US correspondent and anchor of "World Insight with Tian Wei" on CGTN, international debate & high-profile interview program. Starting from a radio producer to becoming a reporter, a news presenter, a talk show host, a Washington Correspondent covering the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and now as host of CGTN, Tian aspires to be the link between China and the world.

She has been honored by the United Nations Development Program as a Special Advisor. She is also China's National Advocacy Ambassador for Mental Health and a member of the national advocacy team on HIV-AIDS.
Mukhisa KITUYI
Secretary-General, UNCTAD
Mukhisa Kituyi, of Kenya, became UNCTAD's seventh Secretary-General on 1 September 2013. After serving an initial four-year term, he was reappointed by the General Assembly in July 2017 for an additional term that began on 1 September that year.
Dr. Kituyi has an extensive background as an elected official, an academic, and a holder of high government office. He also has wide-ranging experience in trade negotiations, and in African and broader international economics and diplomacy.
He was born in Bungoma District, western Kenya, in 1956. He studied political science and international relations at the University of Nairobi and at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda, receiving a BA in 1982. He went on to earn an MPhil in 1986 and a doctorate in 1989 from the University of Bergen, Norway.
Dr. Kituyi served as a researcher at Norway's Christian Michelsen Institute from 1989 to 1991, and as Programme Director of the African Centre for Technology Studies in Nairobi from 1991 to 1992.
He was elected to the Kenyan Parliament in 1992, and was twice re-elected. He was Kenya's Minister of Trade and Industry from 2002 to 2007.
During this period, Dr. Kituyi chaired for two years the Council of Ministers of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and the African Trade Ministers' Council.
He also served as chairman of the Council of Ministers of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States, and was lead negotiator for Eastern and Southern African ministers during the European Union-ACP Economic Partnership Agreement negotiations. He was convenor of the agriculture negotiations carried out at the World Trade Organization's Sixth Ministerial Conference held in Hong Kong, China in 2005.
From 2008 to 2012, Dr. Kituyi was a member of a team of experts advising the presidents of the nations of the East African Community on how to establish more effective regional economic links.
From 2011 to 2012, he was a consultant for the African Union Commission, where he helped to develop the structure for a pan-African free trade area.
Immediately prior to becoming Secretary-General, Dr. Kituyi was Chief Executive of the Kenya Institute of Governance, based in Nairobi. The Institute is a think tank and advocacy organization that focuses on linking academic research and the development of public policy.
During 2012, Dr. Kituyi also served as a non-resident fellow of the Africa Growth Initiative of the Brookings Institution, Washington, D.C. He was a resident scholar there in 2011.
Dr. Kituyi is married and has four children.
Christopher PISSARIDES
Professor Sir, London School of Economics
Sir Christopher Pissarides holds the Regius Chair of Economics at the London School of Economics and the Chair of European Studies at the University of Cyprus. He specialises in the economics of labour markets, economic growth and structural change, especially as they relate to market frictions, where his work has been especially influential. In the last decade he has worked extensively on the employment implications of automation and artificial intelligence and on the emergence of China as a global economic power. He has written extensively in professional journals, magazines and the press and his book Equilibrium Unemployment Theory is an influential reference in the economics of unemployment that has been translated into many languages.
In 2010 Sir Christopher was awarded the Nobel Prize for his work on the labour market, sharing it with Dale Mortensen of Northwestern University and Peter Diamond of MIT, and in 2005 he became the first European economist to win the IZA Prize in Labor Economics, sharing it again with his collaborator Dale Mortensen. He has since been honoured with several other awards, Prizes and Society fellowships, including lifetime fellowships of the American Economic Association, the British Academy, the European Academy and the Academy of Athens. He served as President of the European Economic Association in 2011. In 2011 he received the Grand Cross of the Republic of Cyprus in 2011, the highest honour of the Republic, becoming also an honorary citizen of his birthplace Nicosia. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2013.
David Daokui LI

Professor David Daokui Li was appointed as Director General and Chief Economist at the New Development Bank (NDB) on July 1, 2019. As the first Chief Economist of the NDB, Professor David Daokui Li will play a leading role in the Bank’s overall operations in research and analysis of economic, financial, infrastructure and development issues across member countries and on a global scale. Professor David Daokui Li is a leading Chinese economist in academic and policy research. He has been a Mansfield Freeman Chair Professor of Economics of Tsinghua University since 2006. He also served as the founding Dean of Schwarzman College of Tsinghua University from 2014 to 2017. Research and teaching of Professor David Daokui Li cover a wide range of economic fields, including economic development, international economics, comparative economics, and the Chinese economy. Together with Eric S. Maskin, 2007 Nobel Laureate of Economics, he is a co-president of the Society for the Analysis of Government and Economics (SAGE). Professor David Daokui Li has been actively working on economic issues in BRICS countries. Since 2004, as the Director of Center for China in the World Economy (CCWE), which is now embedded in the Academic Center for Chinese Economics Practice and Thinking of Tsinghua University, he has organized annual research conferences of economic think tanks from BRICS countries. Professor David Daokui Li holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University. He obtained his B.S. from Tsinghua University in 1985 as one of the first cohort of graduates of the School of Economics and Management.

Robyn M. DENHOLM

In November 2018, Tesla’s Board of Directors appointed Robyn M. Denholm to serve as the independent Chair of the Board, having considered her strong leadership, independent presence, and financial and business expertise since she joined the Board in 2014 as an independent director. Her global experience encompasses leadership roles across a range of technology companies, including Telstra, Juniper Networks, and Sun Microsystems. Most recently, Ms. Denholm served as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Strategy of Telstra, a telecommunications company, where she also served as its Chief Operations Officer. She is widely credited with leading a team that drove significant increases in Juniper’s revenues, overseeing its corporate transformation during her nine-year tenure as Chief Financial and Operations Officer. Her experience also includes numerous finance management roles in the automotive industry while at Toyota Motor Corporation Australia for seven years. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia and holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Sydney and a Master's degree in commerce from the University of New South Wales.

Pascal Soriot is Chief Executive Officer of AstraZeneca since October 2012.
Pascal brings significant experience in established and emerging markets, strength of strategic thinking, a successful track record of managing change and executing strategy, and the ability to lead a diverse organization.
Pascal served as Chief Operating Officer of Roche’s pharmaceuticals division from 2010 to September 2012 and, prior to that, Chief Executive Officer of Genentech, a biologics business, where he led its successful merger with Roche. Pascal joined the pharmaceutical industry in 1986 and has worked in senior management roles in numerous major companies around the world.
Pascal is a doctor of veterinary medicine (École Nationale Vétérinaire d’Alfort, Maisons-Alfort) and holds an MBA from HEC, Paris.
YIN Qi

Yin Qi is the co-founder & CEO of MEGVII Technology Limited, a world-class AI company with core competencies in deep learning. Founded in Beijing in 2011 by Yin Qi, Tang Wenbin and Yang Mu, three Tsinghua University graduates who studied under the Turing-prize winning Chinese computer scientist and computational theorist Andrew Chi-Chih Yao, MEGVII is a pioneer in applying AI technology and computer vision algorithms to Internet of Things (IoT) use cases. The Company’s mission is to “power humanity with AI.”
Together with his co-founders and MEGVII’s Chief Scientist, Yin personally oversees the development of MEGVII’s deep learning algorithms and its proprietary Brain++ deep learning framework. Yin has led the company to commercialize its technology in three industry verticals: personal IoT, city IoT, and supply chain IoT.
Yin Qi graduated from Tsinghua University in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, and even while an undergraduate, he was already working on advanced artificial intelligence and computer vision at Microsoft Research Asia. In 2011, Yin went to Columbia University to pursue a doctorate in computer science, with a research focus on smart sensors, but sensing the enormous opportunity back home, he returned that same year to China to start MEGVII. While building the company, Yin also managed in 2015 to join the first class to study business strategy and enterprise management at Hupan University, founded by Alibaba Chairman Jack Ma and committed to help Chinese most potential entrepreneurs grow, bound, and thrive in the global economy. Yin was born in Wuhu City, Anhui Province in 1988.
Yin Qi has been a member of the Young Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum since March 2019. He joined the Professional Committee for AI Ethics under the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence in February 2019. Yin was named to Fortune’s “40 Under 40”list of Chinese elites for three consecutive years, 2015, 2016 and 2017. In January 2016, he was ranked No. 1 on Forbes Asia’s “30 under 30”Enterprise Technology entrepreneurs. In June 2018, MIT Technology Review’s included him in their global “Innovators under 35”list. MEGVII ranked No. 11 among MIT Technology Review’s 50 Smartest Companies 2017.
