Answers to Hot Issues for Supporting Activities of the Sixth China International Import Expo

Q 1: What kinds of supporting activities will be held during the sixth CIIE?

A: Adhering to the theme of “New Era, Shared Future”, the Sixth China International Import Expo (CIIE) will continue to enhance the authority and professionalism of its supporting activities and will divide its supporting activities into the following categories: First, policy interpretation, including various forms of policy release, authoritative analysis, in-depth interpretation, and trend research and prediction activities organized by central and national agencies, local governments, industry organizations, research institutions, and others; second, matchmaking and signing, including demand release, supply-demand negotiations, signing ceremonies, and other activities held by various trade missions, buyers, exhibitors, partners of buyer invitation & exhibitor recruitment, expo supporting units, and industry organizations; third, product display, including new product release, new technology promotion, new service display, and other activities held by exhibitors, especially Fortune Global 500 enterprises and industry-leading enterprises; fourth, investment promotion, including business environment promotion, provincial-prefecture exchanges and cooperation, industrial matchmaking seminars, and other activities organized by local governments, industrial parks, and investment promotion agencies; fifth, cultural exchanges, including the exhibition and performance activities of intangible cultural heritage, Chinese time-honored brands, pedestrian streets, tourism, and others organized by local governments, public welfare performances with regional or ethnic characteristics, and other countries (regions) are encouraged to carry out publicity, promotion, and world-class intangible cultural heritage display and exchange activities; sixth, research release, including report release, research results sharing, scientific research forums, government-enterprise-university-scientific research institution dialogue, and other activities organized by international organizations, scientific research institutions, various think tanks, and professional institutions in line with the theme and orientation of the CIIE; seventh, industry annual meetings, customer appreciation meetings, professional competitions, and others.

Q 2: Who are the main organizers for these activities?

A: The organizers are primarily made up of the main constituents bidding for supporting activities, including members of the organizing committee, international organizations, participating countries (or regions) in the Country Exhibition, exhibitors, provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government, municipalities with independent planning status, the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, buyers, partners of buyer invitation & exhibitor recruitment, supporting units of the CIIE, and the mainstream media.

Q 3: How does an organization apply to hold one of these activities?

A: Please refer to the “Activity Application” under the “Activities” column on the official website of the China International Import Expo.

Q 4: Where can details on the supporting activities be found?

A: After the announcement of the schedule of activities, you can refer to the “Agenda” under the “Activities” on the official website of the CIIE.

Q 5: What do organizers need to do?

A: The organizers of activities that have been confirmed must carry out the following work.

(I) Confirm the organization. Consult in a timely manner with the China International Import Expo Bureau and the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) on matters such as contract signing and the details of the CIIE.

(II) Organize the activities. Invite participants, including guests and visitors, according to the activity themes and content, and organize the activities well.

(III) Submit personnel information. As for the on-site activities to be held in the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the participants (organizers, VIPs, visitors, etc.) who are not yet registered for admission to the sixth CIIE (NECC) need to submit the personal information in a timely manner, so as to carry out the issuance of certificates (see Q 7). The personnel who have procurement or contract-signing tasks are advised to apply for the certificate for buyers in order to be included in the transaction statistics of the CIIE.

Methods for submitting information: The organizers should collect and summarize the relevant personnel information in a timely manner as required. After entering an account name and password provided by the China International Import Expo Bureau, the organizers can log into the supporting activities information system of the sixth CIIE (see Q 6) to fill in the personnel information.

(IV) Issue certificates. For persons whose information has been submitted, the CIIE will follow procedures to examine and make the documents. After certificates are made, they will be handed over to the organizers of the activities for distribution.

(V) Strengthen the prevention and control of the epidemic and enhance the investigation and monitoring of events. According to the principle that “organizers are responsible”, the organizers shall strictly implement relevant work in compliance with the epidemic prevention requirements of Shanghai, strengthen the advance investigation and on-site monitoring of content as well as opinions and behavior of supporting activities, and formulate and improve contingency plans.

Q 6: How do organizers of these activities held inside the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) use the activities information system?

A: After their applications are confirmed, organizers may use the information system.

(I) Obtain a username and password. Once their applications are confirmed, organizers will receive an email notification from the China International Import Expo Bureau that includes the login website, a unique account name and password, and other information. After completing the setting, the organizers can click the “Organizers Login” under the “Activities” on the CIIE’s official website to use the supporting activities information system.

(II) Submit personnel information. As for the on-site activities to be held in the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the participants (organizers, VIPs, visitors, etc.) who are not yet registered for admission to the sixth CIIE (NECC) need to submit the personal information in a timely manner, so as to carry out the issuance of certificates (see Q 7).

(III) Submit vehicle information. The organizers shall submit the vehicle license information online in accordance with the application requirements of the system and the designated area.

Q 7: What certificates should participants of the supporting activities handle?

A: Participants include organizers, VIPs, visitors, etc.

(I) Apply for the certificates for entering the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). In principle, each person can only apply for one certificate for admission to the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). If you have already obtained credentials for personnel such as exhibitors, buyers, special guests, and service providers that allow access to the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), there is no need to apply for additional ones for supporting activities. Attendees who do not have admission certificates for entering the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) shall submit their personal information to the organizers as required. The organizers shall submit this information to the organizing committee and apply for certificates according to the maximum venue capacity. After the certificates are made, the organizers shall issue the certificate to relevant personnel so that they can enter the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).

(II) Credential application for entry into supporting activity venues According to the requirements for supporting activities, the organizer is responsible for handling and explaining the specific handling procedures.
